Bleszinski: Future Gears of War titles to be more Nolan focussed than Schumacher, Burton

Cliff Bleszinski has said future Gears of War installments will aim to become more Nolan-based in its stories rather than be inspired by Joel Schumacher or Tim Burton.

Bleszinski made the comparison in an IGN interview. The common theme between Schumacher, Burton and Christopher Nolan is they've directed Batman films.

The last of Nolan's Batman films, The Dark Knight Rises, releases this summer.

"If we get around to ever doing more Gears games, I hope we can continue to drift back more towards a Christopher Nolan type dialogue as opposed to a Tim Burton or Joel Schumacher Batman," he said.

"But that's way down the line."

Bleszinski also noted how he wanted to go more serious with Gears at first than just mere dudebro games.

"I didn't always make these dude-bro games at Epic. The intent was to make [Gears of War] a lot more Band of Brothers and take it a lot more serious."

However, he added that Epic Games simply merely didn't know how to do it.
