Black Ops to feature "Multiplayer Online Split-Screen Support"
We're not quite sure why, but it's neat all the same.
While you're playing online Black Ops, you can bring a local player into your game on the same screen.
Who knew?
Treyarch's Joseph Olin did, evidently. He posted this on the PS Blog:
- You can connect a second controller and bring a guest online (i.e. “JD_2020” & “JD_2020(1)”).
- Guests can rank up, earn unlocks, etc – all guest progress goes away once signed out.
In a feature titled "Little-Known Facts: Call of Duty: Black Ops Multiplayer," Olin also pointed out that the shooter will ship with a custom games editor, an in-games friends list and regional match-making.
Did you need more reasons to buy it? There you go, then.
Call of Duty: Black Ops launches on November 9 for PS3, 360, PC, Wii and DS. If you are really keen you can pick it up at midnight at GAME.
