Black Ops 4: Zombies 115 Day Celebration adds Gauntlets and doles out double XP

The Zombies: 115 Day Celebration Event starts next week in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and it sounds as though there's plenty of fun in store.

Treyarch is kicking off its 115 Day Celebration Event next week with double XP and the addition of Gauntlets in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies.

Starting January 15, you can earn Zombies 2XP, Zombies 2X Weapon XP, and 2X Nebulium Plasma on all platforms. If you play on PS4, you'll find the addition of three new Epic Elixirs, Elixir balancing updates and the debut of Gauntlets.

Gauntlets are 30-round challenges with unique rules for each round,according to Treyarch.

One of these is "Unsinkable" in Voyage of Despair, and players will receive Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals and special tier-based rewards upon completing rounds 10, 20, and 30. A unique reward will also be awarded for completing round 30 without failing a round. Good luck with that.

Bonus Nebulium Plasma rewards will be doled out when you hit each new milestone for the first time.

Rules can vary wildly round-to-round, ranging from weapon restrictions and time limitations to area defense challenges with dangerous enemy modifiers, and everything in-between. If you and your crew fail to complete a round as instructed, you’ll earn a Strike. If you receive three Strikes, it’s game over and you’ll have to start from round 1 again. While getting to round 10 will prove challenging for casual players, completing all 30 rounds will test even the most seasoned Zombies veterans. Only the best of the best will emerge victorious with no downs or Strikes.

Because we’ve also designed Gauntlets to be endlessly replayable in a competitive setting, the rules for each of the 30 rounds are permanently set and all Gauntlet matches are timed, so we expect to see some incredible speed runs from the community long after you’ve achieved your first Gold medal.

Unsinkable is the first of many Gauntlets to come in 2019, said Treyarch, each with its own set of  challenges.

The same day  Zombies: 115 Day Celebration kicks off, new information on features and new content coming to Zombies  will be provided. Said information will include a preview of what’s  in the works for the 1.12 update scheduled for late January.

Zombies: 115 Day Celebration starts January 15 at 10am PT, 1pm ET, 6pm UK and ends on January 18.
