Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Prestige Tokens

Prestige Tokens have been around for a while now, since Modern Warfare 3 to be precise. They essentially allow you to keep a weapon unlocked after the Prestige reset. Weapons that would usually require a level unlock will be unlocked from the get-go, with subsequent Prestige Tokens unlocking more and more guns.

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Permanent Unlock Token

Players who participated in the Black Ops 4 Beta earlier this year had the chance to bag themselves a Prestige Token early. Players had to have hit level 40 in order to get the Permanent Unlock Token at launch, which was no easy feat. PS4 players actually had more time to get the Permanent Unlock Token given the exclusivity deal with Activision.

What Should You Spend Your Prestige Tokens On?

The Permanent Unlock Token given after every Prestige is very useful indeed. It means that you’ll have a certain weapon from the get go when resetting all of your equipment, saving a lot of time and hassle in levelling up to get it naturally. You’ll want to spend your Prestige Tokens on a high level gun that you use often. Your favorite weapon might be all well and good, and as much as you might want to hold onto it - it’s not always the best idea. If the weapon in question is unlocked at a relatively low level, it might be worth grinding for it instead. High level unlocks are more worthwhile, given that you might need them for certain challenges and XP-granting bonuses. Of Course, it’s up to you which weapon you’d like to spend your hard-earned Permanent Unlock Token on, but we’d recommend something like the Swordfish or Cordite.
