Black Ops 2 moves 219,527 units on PS3, 360 at Japanese retail
Animal Crossing: New Leaf remained in the top spot at Japanese retail for the third week in a row, according to Media Create figures, but Treyarch's Black Ops 2 did fairly well in its debut moving 197,350 units on PS3 and 22,177 units on Xbox 360. Combined, the shooter moved 219,527 units for the week, essentially making it the top earner on the chart.
Besting third place seller Pokemon Mystery Dungeon by 75,870 units, Black Ops 2 along with Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational and eleventh place E.X. Troopers helped PS3 sales surge from 17,035 the week prior to 34,167 units for the week.
Still, the PS3 hardware surge wasn't enough to best 3DS XL, even with sales for the handheld down week-over-week and a chart filled with 3DS titles.
With few exceptions, hardware was up over the prior week, with only PS Vita and Xbox 360 sales down for the period.
