BioWare: Mass Effect 3 to feature story, multiplayer DLC
Post-launch DLC for Mass Effect 3 will consist of content for both single-player and multiplayer, series boss Casey Hudson has said.
"There’s some multiplayer stuff, but we’re also planning some DLC on the single-player side, because it did really good in Mass Effect 2," Hudson told Game Informer.
"There’s a reason why we can add stories to what’s there."
The single-play content would fit in as you go through the game's story, the same as it was during Mass Effect 2, according to the series producer. In ME2, you were allowed to explore the DLC before reaching the game's main endgame.
"The adventure-type DLC will happen in the time frame of Mass Effect 3, within your Mass Effect 3 storyline. It’s similar to how with Mass Effect 2, if you had a saved game from anywhere inside the game, you could go on to the DLC. We have a pretty neat concept for how it’s going to work."
Mass Effect 3 launches on March 6 in North America and March 9 in Europe for 360, PC and PS3.
