During the DICE Summit, Howard said Bethesda was currently working on three titles which were “long term projects" different from what Bethesda Game Studios has done before.

Speaking with GI.biz, Howard said he never should have offered a number, as the company has "so many things" on its plate than ever before.

"I should have never said a number because we have so many things," he said. "You could add it up in different ways. You could say it's bigger or smaller. They're a long way off. We just have more going on now than we had before."

Howard said the company doesn't plan to discuss the projects "anytime soon," one reason being the team always overlap projects.

"Part of that's the growth of the studio," he said. "We have the Montreal studio now and we're going to be doing different things. We feel we have a pretty good footing and we're in a particular place and time where we can try some new things and be confident that they'll find some success."

This month at GDC, Howard, who has worked at Bethesda for 22 years, will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award  during the Game Developers Choice Awards ceremony on Wednesday, March 16.

Howard is the executive producer of Fallout 4, which is up for a Game of the Year Award the same night alongside The Witcher 3, Metal Gear Solid 5, Rocket League and Bloodborne.

The ceremony will be livestreamed on Twitch starting at 6.30pm PT/9.30pm ET/2am UK.
