Battlefield 5's second Tides of War chapter kicks off January 17
The Battlefield 5 in-game calendar has been updated with early details about the next chapter in the game's live service.
Tides of War's second chapter has previously been revealed as Lightning Strikes. This chapter follows Overture, and will be available in Battlefield from January 17 until sometime in March.
The first part of the new chapter is dubbed A Few Good Soldiers, and the tile for it has popped up through the in-game menu for players.
Lightning Strikes will include the launch of the Combined Arms co-op mode, the return of Rush in multiplayer, the new Squad Conquest game mode, and a special Grand Operation mission. However, details about specific launch dates for these various components are yet to be announced.
The first big Battlefield 5 patch in 2019 should also be released in the same week, possibly even on January 17. DICE said to expect a multi-page set of notes this time, too. January 17 will also see the launch of Battlefield Currency, which will be used to buy cosmetic items.
