Battlefield 5 beta gets September dates
The Battlefield 5 beta has finally been given a solid date.
On stage at Nvidia's GeForce RTX 20 series reveal, Nvidia's Jensen Huang announced that the Battlefield 5 beta will kick off on Thursday, September 6.
DICE has previously confirmed that the beta will be starting in September, but now we have an official date. September 6 is the start of the open beta, but those who pre-ordered the game get in on Tuesday, September 4.
This goes for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
The date reveal came just after DICE took the stage to showcase the power of Ray Tracing in Battlefield 5's multiplayer, which you can see below.
An early version of the Battlefield 5 beta build is playable all week at gamescom 2018 for those in attendance. The build will showcase a new map, Rotterdam, playable in Conquest. The closed alpha's Arctic Fjord will also be playable in this build, in both Conquest, and Grand Operations.
In case you missed it, DICE released a very hot gamescom trailer last week. Footage of the Rotterdam map, which is playable at gamescom, can be seen throughout.
DICE also confirmed this week that vehicle customisation won't be available at launch, and will instead come out sometime after that.
Battlefield 5 is out October 19 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
