Westie brings us some completely new Battlefield 1 gameplay that shows a tonne of new and updated mechanics, weapons, maps, and more.

The star of the show here is the new Support weapon, the BAR M1918. This weapon is the closest thing we have to an assault rifle, bridging the gap between LMGs and Battle Rifles. It has a small magazine but a lower rate of fire and is more accurate.

You may have also noticed the new weapon skin system, which didn't feature in the beta or alpha. A gold camo is being used here, and it doesn't look too outrageous. There are seven skins for each, with gold being the rarest.

Westie is playing the new Operations mode, which takes place over several maps and there's a look at two Operations. The first is called Kaiserschlacht and it takes place on the Western Front, so you'll be playing on St. Quentin Scar and Amiens. Oil Empires is the other Operation, and it features the Middle Eastern maps of Fao Fortress, Sinai Desert, and Suez.

There have been some big changes to class balance since the beta and alpha, too. The Support class has seen the biggest, and it now can equip the Limpet Mine as a gadget. This is an explosive charge that sticks to objects and detonates when the target moves. The Support now also carries a repair tool, previously a Medic gadget.

In the final game the Support class will have access to a Mortar, but will lose the Trip Mines, which have been transferred over to the Scout. The revive UI has indeed been changed since the beta, and it's now much clearer and easier to read.
