New Battleborn character announced and it's a penguin named Toby

The Battleborn open beta is coming to PS4 early next year, and during the PlayStation Experience keynote, Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford introduced a new character for the online multiplayer title.

As previously announced, PS4 players get early access during the beta and PS4 players who participate will receive a bonus 26th Battleborn hero after the game launches on May 3, 2016.

To qualify for and redeem the bonus reward, PS4 players must login to their purchased version of Battleborn using the same SHiFT (Gearbox) account they played with during the open beta.

The new character introduced today was Toby, a penguin who wears a mech suit. He can be played during the beta.

Digital pre-orders for the title are available today on PS4 and those who drop the money early will be handed the Firstborn Pack, which includes skins for Thorn, Reyna, Montana, Marquis, and Rath.
