Battalion 1944 world exclusive gameplay - devs are nailing the old school shooter feel
Want to see how Battalion 1944 development is going? Take a peek right here.
Battalion 1944 is a WW2 shooter that started life as a Kickstarter campaign. It reached its goal in three days and signed Square Enix as its publisher this month.
Westie got to go to London last week to play a pre-alpha build of the game, and you can watch his world exclusive gameplay in the video above.
He dabbled in Team Deathmatch on the Manor map. The maps are still being tweaked, with this one having gone through a number of changes already, but Westie says it "felt very fluid and very slick."
The team at Bulkhead are currently "working on nailing the feeling and experience of old school shooters," before they get stuck into everything else.
Some areas on the map can only be reached with a strafe jump, which is a key part of the gameplay. You may remember that the move was originally a glitch in the Unreal engine, so the developers have had to build it back in.
Westie shares a number of insights about the game and his time talking to the developers, so if this game is on your radar, it's worth a watch.
