Batman: Arkham Origins coming to iOS & Android, is free-to-play brawler
Batman: Arkham Origins is getting a free-to-play fighter courtesy of Mortal Kombat developer NetherRealm Studios. It's coming to iOS and Android within the full game's launch window.
In a press release sent to VG247 today, publisher Warner confirmed that the game is free, and will see Batman walking the streets of Gotham as he batters goons in hand-to-hand combat. Along the way they will be able to upgrade Batman's skills and suit with in-game currency. We're yet to see if there's any micro-payments in there.
What's more, if you own the console version of Batman: Arkham Origins, you will unlock further extras for your trouble, such as a Red Son outfit.
In a statement, NetherRealm Studios creative director Ed Boon said, “We created an integrated gaming ecosystem between the Batman: Arkham Origins mobile and console games, which delivers rewards and unlocks that provide greater experiences for players. The mobile game goes hand-in-hand with what is offered on the other platforms.”
All other versions of Batman: Arkham Origins release on October 25.
