Batman: Arkham Knight Linux, Mac ports cancelled
Batman: Arkham Knight is not coming to Linux and Mac, which is probably good news for both of those platforms.
Planned Batman: Arkham Knight OS-X and Linux ports have been cancelled, Warner Bros. has announced.
No explanation was provided in a Steam Community post breaking the news, but those who have already pre-ordered are invited to request a Steam refund.
Although this is disappointing news for Linux and Mac gamers, it's not hard to guess why the ports have been cancelled; the PC version released in a terrible state, was pulled from sale for an extended period, and is still pretty damn rough after months of work. If the combined powers of Rocksteady, Nvidia and Iron Galaxy couldn't get the game working on Windows, there was little hope for less documented platforms.
Developer Feral Interactive first revealed the planned ports over a year ago in a batch of upcoming SteamOS and OS-X titles including GRID Autosport and Company of Heroes 2. Both of those games have since been ported successfully, by the way.
Thanks, GamesIndustry.
