With Batman: Return to Arkham having released last week, we're starting to see the amount of effort that went into remastering both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.

Instead of comparing the graphics quality with the original, Digital Foundry instead looks at the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Arkham City, specifically detailing the frame-rate each version runs at.

The analysis reveals that both PS4 and Xbox One utilise dynamic resolution, but keep the vertical axis at 1080p. Depending on the scene, the game drops the resolution to as low as 1600x1080 on PS4, and 1024x1080 on Xbox One.

When it comes to frame-rate, they vary widely from scene to scene, and across the different version. Both versions don't have frame-rate caps, but PS4 delivers higher frame-rates across the board.

As you can see in the video, frame-rate can get as low as 20fps in some instance, and sometimes reaching 60fps. That's on PS4, where the action generally hovers around 30-35fps. On Xbox One, frame-rates are generally lower but the console does manage to match the PS4's output in some instances.

You can see this and more in the video.
