Baldurs Gate: Enhanced Edition not coming to Wii U, says Beamdog boss
Beamdog co-founder Trent Oster has said there won't be a Wii U version of Baldurs Gate: Enhanced Edition, citing past experiences as the reason why.
Oster was at Overhaul Games when it brought MDK2 to WiiWare with motion controls. However, as he would go onto explain, the relationship between it and Nintendo has put off Beamdog bringing Baldurs to the new hardware.
"We don't do Nintendo development," he said in a tweet. "Our previous experience with Nintendo was enough to ensure there will not be another."
He continued: "My problems with Nintendo are: requiring 6,000 unit sales before payment, a certification process that took us 9 months and a 40mb limit."
It isn't known if it had passed the 6,000 milestone, meaning payment for the game.
He concluded Nintendo wasn't a "good" platform holder, adding Wii was "a toy, not a console."
Baldurs Gate: Enhanced Edition launches this summer on iPad, PC and Mac.
