BAFTAs reactions: smiles all round on red carpet
Sam Clay donned a suit and hit up the BAFTA Awards last night, speaking with a range of award-winning industry figures including thatgamecompany's Robin Hunicke. Here's what some of the
Journey was the clear winner of the night with eight nominations and five wins. The smiles on the faces of the three thatgamecompany members who made the trip pay tribute to how proud the team are of the product - justifiably.
Danny Wallace, the narrator of Thomas Was Alone, won an award, but halfway through the event he was told to stay in his seat, and believed he'd missed out.
On of the classiest responses of the night came from Ubisoft. Far Cry 3 received six nominations but took home just one award, for best action, but Ubisoft's representative had nothing but praise for independent winners.
XCOM: Enemy Unknown took out best strategy, which meant Sam got a chance to talk to the naturally funny and charming Jake Solomon.
Telltale was suitably humbled by its "incredibly meaningful" award, noting that "there's nothing like this in America" - the BAFTAs are quite a big deal internationally, you know.
Finally, All Star Soccer took out the best Sports/Fitness category, beating out games like FIFA 13. "It's unbelievable. I didn't expect to win," the genuinely surprised-looking recipient said.
