Australia: Register for next week’s Call of Duty XP tournament

Activision Australia has revealed the details of next week's Australian Qualifier for the September Call of Duty XP tournament in Los Angeles

As reported earlier, the qualifier will take place on Wednesday July 13, with contestants expected to arrive at Building 60 of Monash University's Clayton campus by 18:30.

Any players over the age of 18 in teams of four are eligible to enter with 32 teams expected.

Competition will be by single elimination, and will use the Xbox 360 version of Black Ops' Search & Destroy mode, despite earlier reports that Modern Warfare 3 would be playable.

To register, you'll need to send your team's detailed to codxpau@activision.com, and include name, address, phone, email, date of birth for each team member, as well as team name.

Activision will select teams on a first come, first served basis, so be quick. Entry will be confirmed by return email.

The winning team must be available to attend the Call of Duty XP event between August 31 and September 4, and will score flights, accommodation, transfers, and meals.

    General:
  • Tournament will consist of 32 teams of 4
  • Competitors will play on independent screens with headphones
  • This will be a single elimination format.

  • Headshots Only: Disabled
  • Allow Sprint: Enabled
  • Max Health: Normal
  • Health Regen: Normal
  • Spectating: Team only
  • Friendly Fire: Enabled

  • No Perks
  • Custom classes will be used and are outlined below
    Match Settings:
  • Match Type: Search and Destroy
  • Time limit per round: 1.5 minutes
  • Bomb timer: 45 seconds
  • Plant time: 5 seconds
  • Defuse time: 5 seconds
  • Multi Bomb: Disabled
  • Round Switch: Every round
  • Number of Lives: 1
  • Round Limit: 4

    • First to win 4 rounds wins the match with overtime at 3 all.

    Rounds will be played as follows:
  • Round 1: Havana
  • Round 2: Summit
  • Quarter Finals: Havana
  • Semi-Finals: Summit
  • Finals: Both Havana and Summit
