Attack on Titan game headed to 3DS this year

999 developer Spike Chunsoft is working on a 3DS game based on the manga Attack on Titan.

The game was announced in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, and Gematsu reports the publication will deliver details in its October issue.

No details of genre or gameplay were given, and it's not clear if this is the only Attack on Titan game in the works.

Attack on Titan, or Shingeki no Kyojin, is set in a world populated by enormous, human-like titans. Humanity has retreated to walled enclosures, and rarely confronts the creatures; those who do use twin swords and a hip-mounted, high-speed pulley system to zip about in aerial combat.

Western interest in Attack on Titan is relatively high at the moment thanks to a new anime series which began airing in Japan in April. It's pretty ballin'.
