“As developers, we’re always excited to work with new hardware because it gives us a greater ability to express our creative vision," said Ashraf Ismail, creative director of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. "Assassin’s Creed has always been committed to exploring new technologies and leveraging new consoles abilities to deliver the most immersive experience possible. We are excited to be collaborating closely with Microsoft to bring Assassin’s Creed Valhalla to the Xbox Series X.”

The game will also benefit from faster loading times on Xbox Series X, as well as looking nicer. It also supports Smart Delivery, so you can play it on Xbox One and Xbox Series X without having to buy it again.

Original story: Ever since it was confirmed that Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be one of today's Xbox Series X reveals on Inside Xbox, fans have been anxiously awaiting the start of the show to finally see actual gameplay.

Unfortunately, it's not quite going to be that. Hoping to set fans expectations correctly, Valhalla's creative director, Ashraf Ismail, tweeted that what we're going to get is just "a taste", essentially a gameplay teaser.

Asked directly if that means anything like a proper gameplay demo, Ismail confirmed that it won't be, to the disappointment of many.

For reference, here's the first gameplay teaser for Assassin's Creed: Origins. We're likely going to get something along those lines.

We're nonetheless excited to see anything from Valhalla after that CG announcement trailer.

Ubisoft previously confirmed that Assassin's Creed Valhalla's map will encompass four English kingdoms and part of Norway, and the publisher's head of communication for the Middle East clarified that Valhalla won't be the biggest or longest game in the series.
