Watch Assassin's Creed: Syndicate's debut trailer here
Assassin's Creed: Syndicate looks pretty spiffing, and other British-flavoured adjectives.
In Assassin's Creed; Syndicate, you'll be able to doff your hood and don a bowler hat, and the reverse, depending on whether you're attempting to blend in with the civvies or hide your identity on a murder spree. This tiny mechanic, showcased in the video below, makes me extremely happy.
The gears in the Ubisoft logo at the start suggest the publisher is happy to try to appeal to the Steampunk crowd with this one, which probably explains why it's really stretching the borders of historical eras in calling 1868 "during the Industrial Revolution". Chums, that shizzle was well and truly over by 1850 at the absolute outside. We live in the glorious Victorian future now. Lived, I mean. Anyway.
Assassin's Creed: Syndicate has a late October release date (except on PC, where it will be late, as usual) and you spend part of the game playing as a woman, something Ubisoft apparently thought was too hard just one year ago despite having done it before. Good update, Ubi.
