Assassin's Creed Origins has been one of the heavyweights of E3 2017, so you'll want to take a peek at this new footage from Westie.

The gameplay was captured at 4K 60fps on an Xbox One X, but has been downsampled to 1080p. It shows one of the sidequests you can find in Assassin's Creed Origins if you wander off the beaten path.

Along the way, we get to see some horse riding, how objective markers work, the eagle used to find and tag enemies, combat, and more. You also get a feel for how much variety of landscape there is even the comparatively tiny slice of Assassin's Creed Origins' map available to play on at E3 2017.

We also meet a side character. In the way of strong women NPCs everywhere, our companion immediately gave us her unsolicited life story, demonstrating that She Is Not Like Other Girls, and used it as a platform from which to launch some awkward flirting. "I am imagining this," I thought. "I'm reading more into it than what she's saying." But no! Later, she does it again. Lady, rein in your thirst.

Ahh, good old forgettable sidequest NPCs and their hastily-penned dialogue. Speaking of, did you know that the NPCs in Assassin's Creed Origins have to pee regularly? That's just one of many interesting facts available through that link.

Assassin's Creed Origins releases in October for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The series has been resting for a few years to recover from the indignity of the botched Unity launch. Let's hope it's back on form.
