With all the rumors flying about the Egypt-focused Assassin's Creed Origins, it's hard to remind ourselves they're still rumors and not confirmed fact. Now they've just earned a great deal more weight, thanks to leaked pages from an upcoming Game Informer feature.

The scanned pages detail an interview with creative director Jean Guesdon, who dives into Origins development history and the gameplay features fans can expect. Along with the traditional Assassin's Creed gameplay, Origins is expected to feature a far more dynamic world. NPCs will operate on a day/night cycle, the AI will react intelligently to players, and almost every surface will be climbable. That being said, parkour isn't your only travel option - players will be able to ride camels around the landscape to reach objectives - and battle enemies from their backs.

Other leaked information and images reveal the main character, Bayek, was a Medjay which were basically an "elite police force in the Ptolemaic era," (thanks PCgamesN). The Medjay were palace and tomb guard for Egyptian royalty.

Exploration seems to be gaining a renewed focus as well. Origins will drop Assassin's Creed's radar system for a Skyrim-styled compass which points you in the right direction. The game will also let players raid Egyptian tombs and ruins, even to the point of looting treasure from underwater chambers. Of course, each region will come with its own dangers, including animals that will attack NPCs and other animals much like Ubisoft's Far Cry games.

Of course, one issue for many fans will be whether it can avoid the bugs and issues which plagued Assassin's Creed Unity. On this front, there is some promise - Origins apparently started developed before Unity was finished, and it will benefit from not following Ubisoft's usual annual release schedule.

The leak states Assassin's Creed: Origins is slated for October 27 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Now all we need is to see the gameplay in action.

If only there was an upcoming convention which might tease details for us.
