How to Play Stealthily in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
If you played last year’s excellent Assassin’s Creed Origins, then good news, because the overhauled stealth system from Origins is brought back in the same way for Odyssey. Kassandra and Alexios will need to make good use of their surroundings if they want to take their enemies unawares, and there are obvious benefits for doing so.
First, the obvious. Tall grass, bushes, and high vantage points will keep Kassandra and Alexios hidden, and light also plays a factor into how quickly enemies are able to spot you. Basically, you’re going to have a much easier time raiding a camp if the only light source nearby are torches, rather than the full force of the sun bearing down on you.
The best tactic for taking down an encampment undetected is to use Ikaros from above, before you head in. Press up on the d-pad to go to Kassandra and Alexios’ eagle, and if you hold down the left trigger and look around from above, you can mark all the enemies, so that your protagonist knows exactly where they are, at all times.

How to Lure Enemies
From here, you need to use your Lure ability. Pressing down on the d-pad will have Alexios and Kassandra whistle, alerting nearby enemies and drawing them towards your position, so you can take them down silently by pressing Y/Triangle. The trick here is to know the radius of the Lure ability, so that you only alert a single enemy at a time. You don’t want one enemy coming towards you, while their friend watches them as they walk towards you.
How to Use Stealth Attacks
You also need to make sure that Kassandra and Alexios can take our an enemy in a single stealth attack. Scroll over to the ‘Inventory’ tab of the pause menu in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and you can see the amount of damage that you’ll inflict for bow attacks (Hunter), melee attacks (Warrior), and stealth attacks (Assassin). Taking out an enemy in a single stealth attack is paramount, since if you leave them alive, they’re obviously going to call to their allies for help, which means trouble for you. If you want to get your Assassin Damage level as high as possible, then you’ll want to equip gear that gives you Assassin Damage a boost.
