The first Assassin's Creed Odyssey live event was cancelled, but a new one kicks off next week
No wonder we couldn't figure out was the deal was with Damais yesterday. The Assassin's Creed Odyssey live event starring the fella was cancelled.
The first live event in Assassin's Creed Odyssey was set to go live on Tuesday, October 16, but was was cancelled by Ubisoft.
Damais was set to be the first Epic Mercenary for players to hunt down, but when October 17 rolled around and he was nowhere to be found, we found ourselves scratching our heads.
We'd finally given up by the time Ubisoft announced yesterday afternoon the live event had been ditched.
Live events in Assassin's Creed Odyssey will rotate weekly between Epic Ships and Epic Mercenaries. Each have been designed for players who are at or above level 30.
Completing the events reward players with a special currency called Orichalcum. This can be spent on Rare, Epic, and Legendary items sold by the merchant Sargon at the Oikos of the Olympians. New items will be offered every week alongside an Olympian Gift, which is like a mystery box with a surprise.
Players can also spend Orichalcum on items offered from the store.
To participate in live events, contracts are activated at any quest board in the game, as well as on the player's ship. A blue Orichalcum emblem will be highlighted next to the quest name.
Like events in other Ubisoft games, such as Far Cry 5, events are timed and will rotate back again.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey players can expect the next live event to kick off next week on October 23. They should keep their eyes glued to the Aegean Sea as an Epic Ship will be out there sailing around.
