Assassin's Creed III's debut trailer. Ubisoft confirmed it'll be coming to Wii U as well as current-gen consoles and PC

Assassin's Creed III will come to Wii U, Ubisoft announced this afternoon, as it released the debut trailer of the game ahead of its now-locked October 31 worldwide release.

It'll also come to the usual platforms of PS3, 360 and PC. AC3 will have twice the production values of any Ubisoft, it also revealed.

The game's story will see you play as Ratohnaké:ton - or Connor, for short - a Native American of English descent and an assassin embedded in the Revolutionary War between the Americans and the British. Most of the story details emerged from a Game Informer piece over the weekend.

Assassin's Creed III, which is being mainly developed by Ubisoft Montreal with help from six other internal studios, will feature a new engine known as Ubisoft-AnvilNext. The engine will bring breakthroughs in visuals, character models and AI.

"Assassin’s Creed III features the franchise’s most expansive setting so far, along with an exciting new hero and exponentially more gameplay," said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.

"Whether you’re a longtime fan of Assassin’s Creed or if you’re new to the franchise, you’re going to be blown away by the scale and marvel of Assassin’s Creed III."
