Assassin's Creed comic series will give "strong hints" on franchise's future
Upcoming comic series Assassin's Creed: Brahman will apparently contain clues as to where the franchise might visit post-Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag.
The comic series was announced at San Diego Comic Con this weekend, where writer Brenden Fletcher told Gamespot about its potential to provide a sneak preview of future games.
"The story that's in the present is really significant and is filled with hints for what you'll see in the future," he said.
"I can't say much more than that about the hints, of course, but if you're really excited about Assassin's Creed games and you want to know where everything's going past Black Flag and into the future, there are extremely strong hints in Brahman."
Brahman stars new protagonist Arbaaz Mir, who is placed in a difficult position due to his loyalty to the Brotherhood. Set in 1839, it takes places in Indie under Colonial British rule. It's expected to release in northern autumn.
Ubisoft said recently that while it hasn't ruled out a modern day Assassin's Creed, the historical tourism factor is part of the franchise's charm. The next game, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, is due on PlayStation 3, Wii U and Xbox 360 at the end of October, with a PC version to follow and PlayStation 4 and Xbox One releases when the new hardware arrives later in the year.
The series is expected to spawn an entry in 2014, too, which is currently in the works at Ubisoft Toronto.
