Ubisoft's confirmed the next Assassin's Creed title is indeed called Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

Key placeholder art for the game was leaked earlier tonight to Kotaku, featuring main character Ezio and a group of fellow assassins. The cover insists you'll be able to "lead your own brotherhood of assassins, as Ezio, and conquer Rome".

"Live and breathe as Ezio, now a legendary master assassin, in his struggle against the Templar order. Lead your own brotherhood of Assassins and strike at the heart of the enemy. Rome," it goes on to say.

"And for the first time, take part in an innovative multiplayer layer allowing you to embody an assassin of your choosing and define their killing style. A never-before-seen online multiplayer experience."

The art also confirms that the game will be released on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, laying to rest chatter that it could be a portable spin-off in the form of Bloodlines for PSP.

The art also mentions there will be an exclusive multiplayer character for anyone who pre-orders the game at GameStop.

Ubisoft says that more information on the game will be coming next week.

"Ubisoft confirms the authenticity of this image and will provide more information next week," a firm rep told the site.

The subtitle was first leaked after it was discovered last week the company had registered the domain "assassinscreedbrotherhood.com".

The art also mentions a fall 2010 release period.
