Arms reviews round-up, all the scores for Nintendo's new franchise

Will Arms be the start of a new franchise for Nintendo, or a novelty no one will remember in a couple of years?

Arms, the newest IP from Nintendo, is only a few days away from releasing on the Nintendo Switch.

Arms is a fighting/action hybrid of sorts where the characters all have extendable arms. The goal is to punch your opponent, but things get interesting when you look at each character's abilities and the opportunities for juking start to become clearer.

Arms was first shown being played with Joy-Con Controllers, leading many to believe it only supports motion controls. This is not true, in fact, most of the good impressions of the game were of people playing it with a Pro Controller.

Arms definitely doesn't look like anything available on the market today, and especially for the Switch. Ourselves and many other outlets have been playing for the past few days and want to tell you about it. You can read Alex's review of Arms through the link.

Here are the scores we spotted, as always they're out of ten unless noted:

No Score System

  • Eurogamer - "This is a mad, brilliant dance of a game."
  • Ars Technica - "Don't let the saccharine looks fool you: Arms is deep, challenging, and an essential purchase for the Nintendo Switch."

Arms is out June 16 on the Nintendo Switch.
