ARK: Survival Evolved adds giant kangaroo, becomes 2016 GotY so far

ARK: Survival Evolved lets you ride a kangaroo around without risk of being forcibly ejected from a national park for cruelty to innocent, murderous animals.

I haven't yet started ARK: Survival Evolved but I have already decided it is my 2016 game of the year, because the latest update adds a giant kangaroo - as promised.

The Procoptodon is just one of many exciting prehistoric variations on the popular and successful marsupial theme. The version you see in ARK can leap obstacles lesser mounts would shy at, and has the unique ability to carry two players at once. The passenger can make use of weapons, resulting in a rash of hop-by shootings.

Australia's megafauna was pretty terrifying, not least because it didn't really go away. Have you ever been close to a red kangaroo? They are quite literally capable of killing a human with a well placed kick. I only ever feel patriotic when I think about how everything in Australia is capable of murdering lesser nation's lifeforms. All rise for the national anthem.
