ArenaNet details Thief profession for Guild Wars 2
ArenaNet has revealed the sixth of eight professions in Guild Wars 2 - the Thief.
According to Eurogamer, the Thief is nimble and speedy, but has low health and armour.
The Thief can carry a sword, pistol or dagger as well as wield a small weapon in the off-hand. Shortbows are another option for two-handed play.
The new class gets a bonus on sneak attacks and has stealth skills as well as the ability to steal enemies' items to use against them. Ability use is governed by initiative points.
Of the six professions revealed so far, Elementalist, Warrior, Ranger, and Necromancer return from the original Guild Wars, while Guardian and Thief are new to the fold.
Two more professions will be revealed in due course, but Guild Wars' Mesmer and Assassin are not expected.
ArenaNet recently commented that fans of both classes would find something to like in soon-to-be-revealed professions; presumably, the Thief is the "sneaky anti-hero" mentioned at that time.
The two reveals to come will both be medium armour types.
Guild Wars 2 is due to conduct closed alpha and beta tests this year.
