Apple shipping 10 million 'version 2' iPhones to Europe
In a recent interview, Gartner analyst Ken Dulaney has claimed Apple has ordered over 10 million 3G enabled iPhones in a bid to appease complaints from Europeans about low web surfing speeds.
UK mobile users have benefited from the faster 3G service for many years now and have criticised iPhone for its use of the sluggish EDGE network. Dulaney pointed to this as the chief reason for the iPhone's dwindling sales in Europe compared with those of the US.
He also claims that the new iPhone will have an OLED screen, which will not only mean that the device will be even thinner, but it will offset some of the battery life that will be lost by fitting a 3G chip.
Good news if you want iPhone to succeed as a gaming platform. Just need a price drop now.
