iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina display announced, new Mac Pro launches in December
Apple has announced a new model in its tablet line called the iPad Air. It weighs one pound, is 7.5mm thick, with a 9.7-inch Retina display with a 43% smaller bezel.

There's a two fold increase in rendering, apps load two times faster, it contains MIMO technology inside for faster WiFi, the tablet itself is eight times faster than the first gen-iPads, the graphics are 72 times faster as well, it contains 64-bit architecture with over 1 billion transistors with an M7 inside and the new A7 chip.
It has 10 hours of battery life and will start at $499, replacing the last-gen iPad. It ships November 1.
iPad Mini is getting Retina display, will be priced at $399 and is out later in November. Like iPad Air, it comes in silver, white, gray and black.It also contains an A7 chip making the CPU up to 4 times faster and graphics up to 8 times faster. It's got 10 hours of battery life, MIMO and a 5MP camera.
That's four iPads in total available with prices starting at $299 for iPad 2 and upwards.
iPad Air standard comes in 16Gb, 32GB, 64Gb and 128GB for $499, $599, $699, and $799 respectively.
The standard new iPad Mini comes in the same storage capacities as noted above and will run you $399, $499, $599, and $699 respectively.
iPhones, Mac Pro, OSX
Apple CEO Tim Cook announced today at Apple's iPad event in San Francisco that the recently launched iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C moved over 9 million units during launch weekend. Cook said this was the "biggest iPhone launch, ever."
Cook also said that iOS7, which was released alongside the new phones, had 200 million devices upgraded to the operating system in five days, meaning 64% of Apple's devices are now running iOS7.
There are now more than 1 million apps in the App Store that have been downloaded more than 60 billion times and developers have earned over $13 billion.
The iPad sold its 170 millionth units earlier this month and there are now over 475,000 apps in the App Store specifically designed for the tablet.
Craig Federighi, SVP of software engineering, took the stage to discuss OS X Mavericks 10.9 - the firm's new, free operating system - stating that Apple is now more "focused on core technologies, features and apps." The upgrade from Snow Leopard is available today.
Philip Schiller, SVP of worldwide marketing, also came on stage to discuss the company's MacBook lineup. He discusses the new thinner version of the 13-inch which weighs 3.46 pounds and is 0.71 inches thin - and is now 60% faster with 802.11 AC Wifi, Thunderbolt 2 port, runs Mavericks and has up to nine hours of battery life even with the Haswell chip inside with Intel Iris making it 90% faster than the last generation. It ships today starting at $1,299.
The 15 inch ships today, as well, running Mavericks, has up to 8 hours of battery life, and there's option to get a model with GeForce GT discrete graphics. It is powered by an Intel Crystalwell chip with Iris Pro graphics.
A new Mac Pro was also announced with next-gen Intel Xeon e5 at four, six, eight or 12 cores, 1866MHz DDR inside with an AMD FirePro and dual 384-bit memory buses and up to 12GB of GDDR5 DRAM. Storage is flash based at up to 1TB and cam be expanded via Thunderbolt 2. It allows for up to three 4K displays to be plugged into it, and has HDMI 4.1 for HDTVs; has four USB 3 ports; six ThunderBolt 2 ports as well. It is also very quiet apparently, and uses 70% less energy than the previous generation.
Price starts at $2,999 and will be made available in December.
