Apex Legends features a gear rarity system, which is aimed at helping you determine which items are better than others. In this Apex Legends gear rarity guide, we'll be explaining everything there is to know about the way this rarity system works.

Apex Legends Rarity Color Levels

There are four levels of item rarity in Apex Legends: common, rare, epic, and legendary. You can only obtain rare, epic, and legendary items in Apex Packs, which are obtained through levelling up, and 'common' grade items like weapon skins can be unlocked through simply playing the game. Just below, we've put together a table, detailing the rarity levels of every single obtainable item in Apex Legends.

  • Weapon Skins - Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary.
  • Legend Skins - Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary.
  • Legend Finishers - Legend.
  • Banner Frames - Common, Rare, Legendary.
  • Banner Poses - Rare, Epic.
  • Banner Stat Trackers - Common, Rare.
  • Intro Quips - Common, Rare.
  • Kill Quips - Common.
  • Crafting Metal - Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary.

The 'common' type of rarity in Apex Legends is represented by the color gray, and you're always guaranteed to find a few common items wherever you land on the King's Canyon map. Rare items are represented by blue, and can be found in mid-tier loot points on the map, as well as Apex Packs. Finally, Epic and Legendary are represented by purple and gold, respectively, and are the best type of items you can find in the game. Basically, whenever you see a purple or gold item, be sure to make room for it in your inventory.
