There's a live event going on in the Anthem demo right now with a Titan-spawning storm
The Storm has come to the Anthem open demo.
The Anthem demo was open to all players this weekend, and closes for good in a few hours. Bioware is having it go out with a bang with an in-game event that is seeing Ancient Ash Titans spawning in Freeplay.
The game's twitter account began teasing the event earlier today before posting a screenshot of The Storm that's visible in the sky, and hinting that players would find "BIG things" happening in the world.
Anthem players have been posting their own screenshots of The Storm and the Titans, as well as clips of their own epic battles. You can peruse some of the posts below.
This weekend's demo hasn't run into as many problems as last weekend's VIP demo, but there have still been a few niggles.
The latest community update lists reported issues, and while EA's global community manager, Jesse Anderson, has said that a lot of them have been fixed in the full game, they may not get resolved in the demo before it ends.
The main issues being tracked by devs are listed below:
- Disconnects within certain areas of the Tyrant Mine
- Unable to end freeplay from menus
- Errors when accessing the Anthem Demo in certain languages
- Storm using ultimate in the Tyrant Mine stronghold will sometimes make the HUD of all other storms in the party lose their UI
- Sound dropping when playing
- Delayed gun recoil that causes camera to shake more than intended
- XP not being rewarded after missions or expeditions
- Disconnects that return players to the start screen
- Fresh accounts that don’t visit the Forge before going on an expedition can lead to a disconnect
There's still a fair chunk of time left to jump in before the demo wraps up tonight at 6PM PT/ 9PM ET - that's 2AM GMT on February 4.
The full game launches for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, on February 22. Unless you're eligible for one of the many options detailed in EA's spreadsheet, including early access, a 10 hour trial, and - I think it'd just be easier for you to check it out for yourself right here.
