Get familiar with Anthem's combos before this weekend's demo

Combos are a key feature of Anthem's combat, so you'll need to brush up on how they work.

You'll need to master combos if you want to take full advantage of Anthem's gameplay, and Arekkz is here to guide you through.

Chaining together two types of moves results in a combo that will unleash increased damage and an additional effect that varies depending on the javelin you're occupying at the time.

The two move types are Primers, that dish out elemental damage, and Detonators, that you use on a 'primed' enemy to get your combo. There are move types outside of these, but Primers and Detonators are specific to combos.

Combos can be pulled off on your own, or as a team, with one player priming enemies, and another following up with a Detonator.

As Alex explains, compared to their counterparts, Primer and Detonator moves don't deal as much damage on their own, but combos will mete out a lot more than the other attacks in your arsenal, so it's worth familiarising yourself with them as quickly as possible.

You can find our more in the video, and get a breakdown of the Primers and Detonators for a handful of javelins.

The exosuit you're using will add a bonus effect, like additional damage to a single enemy, AOE damage, elemental effects, and an elemental aura.

You can experiement with all of this later today when the VIP demo goes live for players who have pre-ordered the game, or those of you who are members of EA Access.

All of the details for this weekend's demo are right here, including start times and how to redeem codes for yourself, and your friends. There's another demo next weekend that will be open to everyone.

Anthem releases on February 22 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
