Anonymous picking up where Lulzsec left off
Hacker group Anonymous has issued a statement today vowing to pick up where fellow hackers LulzSec left off, after its 50 day internet security rampage targeted several video game companies.
The LulzSec group was a standard-bearer for the "anti-sec" movement, and Anonymous has signaled it will pursue the same goals.
"We like to clarify again: All LulzSec members are accounted for, nobody is hiding. Only a name was abandoned for the greater glory #AntiSec,” Anonymous said on Twitter.
Lulzsec's hacks consistently targeted gaming companies and services like Bethesda, Nintendo, Codemasters, Epic, Square Enix, Eve Online, Minecraft, League of Legends and The Escapist.
Governmental organizations and documents were also a favorite target of the group.
LulzSec announced it was disbanding over the weekend.
