Sony says Anonymous PSN hack claim is "false"
Sony has confirmed to VG247 that Anonymous' claim it had hacked into PSN is a "false report."
“We’ve confirmed that the recent claim that PlayStation Network was illegally hacked and that customer passwords and email addresses were accessed is completely false," a representative for Sony told VG247.
Earlier today, a member of Anonymous claimed it had hacked into Sony's PSN putting 10 million user accounts "were at risk," via a posted database containing over 50GB of user data.
The Internet quickly identified the list of emails and user data in question as copy of a paste bin file from March 19, putting the hacker's claim into the waste bin.
Still, it never hurts to change your password periodically just in case someone decides to ruin everyone's fun.
