Animal Crossing New Horizons: What is the Max Number of Villagers?
You'll inherit a beautiful deserted island in Animal Crossing New Horizons, though it will have limited space available for houses. This means there's a max number of villagers that can live on your island, and here's exactly how many.
You'll meet lots of colorful characters while playing Animal Crossing New Horizons, and can even invite some of them to come live on your island. Problem is, space is finite, and there's a limit to how many villagers you can have on your island at once. In this guide we'll give you info on the max number of villagers you can have, as well as some info on making sure they're all happy.

What is the Max Number of Villagers You Can Have?
The maximum number of villagers you can have on your island in Animal Crossing New Horizons is 10. This is due to the amount of space available, ensuring that there's enough factored in for additional buildings and shops. For more on inviting new people, head here. It is possible that this number could increase as you raise the rating of your island, but after 60 hours in our game, ten seems to be the limit.
How to Make Sure You Have Enough Space
You'll need to plan out your island carefully to make sure everyone has enough space. We recommend clearing out trees first (more on that here), and reserving plots of land where you'd like to put houses. Make sure each house you build isn't obstructing any paths or resources you need to access, and remember that you can move outdoor furniture by holding 'A'.
That's not all we have on Animal Crossing New Horizons. Elsewhere on USG we have a full review of the game. We've also got an article of some pretty awesome Roald fanart.
