Angry Birds does GDC: St Patrick's Day content, movie, engine credits
The indie track at GDC wouldn't be complete without some serious Angry Birds business, and, luckily, Rovio had plenty to talk about yesterday.
Rovio's Peter Vesterbacka has agreed to credit Erin Catto, the creator of the Box2d, for the code's use in the game. Vesterbacka made the commitment in the Angry Birds session, as reported by Joystiq.
Vesterbacka also said that an Angry Birds St Patrick's Day DLC pack is on the way, and that all major holidays will eventually be supported with content releases.
Apparently, again reported by Joystiq, the St Pat's levels will be "very green". Pushing the limits.
There's more. A full-length Angry Birds animation is is the works, Vesterbacka said. There's more about that on Develop.
Vesterbacka added that "mobile is the center of gravity for all gaming," and that Angry Birds is actually Rovio's 52nd game.
There's a full report on the session on Gamespot.
The super-hit has now been downloaded more than 50 million times.
