Amiga Games purchased for $500K by distribution company
Writers' Group Film Corp, a Los Angeles-based content distributor, is the proud new owner of Amiga Games and its 300 or so properties.
Amiga Games in its modern incarnation mainly trades on its library of classic games, licensing them to other companies as well as re-publishing them for various platforms including consoles, smartphones and tablets.
Writers' Group Film Corp picked up 100% of the company;s stock in a deal worth approximately $500,000, noting in a press release that the deal includes over 300 gaming properties.
Current licensing and distribution deals will continue, and Writers' Group will announce new endeavours in the next few weeks,
For those who came in late, Amiga was a line of Commodore-manufactured computers which were one of the first PCs accessible to the general market. As such, it is remembered fondly by many older gamers.
