A job posting on Gamasutra has revealed that Amazon in planning a download service for games and software. While this may be as surprising as the moon coming up in the evening, up to now the company has only provided a scaled back B2B download operation for software: the posting confirms a move into games.

The position is for a full-time software development engineer to join the "Software and Video Games Digital Technology team," who are working on the Amazon Software Download store.

Thanks, Joystiq.
