Alice: Otherlands Kickstarter funding passes 50%, gets new concept art

Alice: Otherlands has hit 50% funding on Kickstarter and to celebrate developer Spicy Horse has released some new concept art, as well as a mock-up of a collectors edition art book that will go to certain backer tiers.

The Alice: Otherlands film project has so far amassed $105,169 of its $200,000 goal with 11 days spare over on Kickstarter. The team announced yesterday that Hong Kong acrion director Tsui Hark is lending his talents to the project.

To celebrate, the studio has posted a piece of new concept art for the animated shorts, showing Alice on a flying contraption joined by famed pilot Hilda Hewlett. We've got the art below.

The team's latest blog post also shows a mock-up of the Alice: Otherlands art book, which will be bundled with copies of the animated shorts and sent to certain backers.

Progress on the animated shorts seems to be going quite well, and you can check out my interview with American McGee on the film's plot and goals here.

What do you make of the project so far?
