Air Conflicts: Vietnam announced for Q3 release on PS3

Air Conflicts: Vietnam will be released during Q3 on PlayStation 3, bitComposer Games has announced.

Moving away from the World War setting, the latest in the Air Conflicts series takes place during the Vietnam War and will include jet planes such as the F-4 Phantom and the B-52. So, prepare to participate in "supersonic dog-fighting," along with the use of heat-seeking missiles, carpet bombing, and laser-guided munitions.

Helicopters of the era such as the UH-1 Huey, AH-1 Cobra, CH-47 Chinook and the CH-53 Sea Stallion for transport and rescue operations will be available.

Air Conflicts: Vietnam will contain a character-led story told from the perspective of a pilot in the US Navy. Missions will contain a full squadron of different aircraft and their pilots to control and each pilot will have his own personality, traits and talents with each improving and progressing in rank throughout the game. Players will even be able to take on the role of a door gunner when using the UH-1 Huey.

Players will also be able to "deploy paratroopers into combat or rescue downed pilots far behind enemy lines, chase down supply convoys, launch defoliation missions, engage in helicopter vs helicopter combat, commit surgical strikes on vital supply lines, take on secret operations, carpet bomb enemies," etc.

Check out a trailer for it below, and look over the screenshots on the EU PS Blog.
