Adrift unveiled at gamescom
French developer Dontnod showed off a mysterious new project at gamescom last week, a future dystopia currently titled Adrift.
IGN reports the third-person game is set in 2084, a deliberate century-on nod to George Orwell's classic novel 1984, in the city of Neo-Paris.
In this not-so-distant future, citizens have devices called Sensaton Engines (or Sensen for short) hardwired into their bodies, at the back of the neck. Plot details are hazy, but the game's tagline is "remember you soon" and there's a suggestion that the memories these devices control aren't as secure as you would hope.
The game will feature combat, exploration and puzzle solving, and is expected in late 2012. Check out this cinematic teaser to get a feel, a well as a gallery of concept art.
