Add your Pokemon Go sightings to Pokemapper and you might find something that isn't a Zubat

Wanna go Pokemon Go hunting but not sure where to catch something that isn't a Zubat or a Duduo? Good news.

Pokemon Go has inspired a new social tool to help trainers find good places to go hunting.

Although you can have plenty of success in Pokemon Go along your usual commute and wandering your neighbourhood, many trainers find themselves surrounded by low level, common Pokemon. These are good to trade for candy and evolve for XP, but it's a bit dull. You can go out of your way to explore and find something better - but it's a bit of a crap shoot, as you might just end up in another Zubat colony, or find nothing at all.

Enter Pokemapper, a tool created by the team behind OpenRide. You can use this tool to help you find Pokemon sightings near you, or log in via Facebook to add your own.

The tool will become more and more useful as Pokemon Go trainers around the world add their sightings, so if things are a bit thin on your area right now you can probably help it gain momentum by adding your own sightings.

The Open Ride team told us it's noticing some interesting trends since Pokemon Go trainers started reporting in; certain areas seem to be thick with particular types of Pokemon.

"We hope that more and more users start opening up their data, so we can all more easily find whichever Pokemon is missing from our collection," OpenRide said. Kind of a neat idea.
