Activision sending some old-gen Destiny players 32 GB USB drives to install game onto
Activision and Bungie have found a way to help Destiny players who are still on last-gen consoles and can't afford a hard drive upgrade.
Bungie recently confirmed the space requirements you'll need to have on your consoles if you want to play The Taken King. The numbers shouldn't be much of an issue for the vast majority of PS4 and Xbox One owners. A lot of PS3 and Xbox 360 players however will suffer, and that's because some models come with very limited hard drive space.
In an attempt to not leave those players behind, Activision said those with "existing and active" accounts on last-gen consoles who also own the 20 GB versions of these consoles can contact the publisher for a solution.
That solution has been revealed today to be a 32 GB flash drive. Gamespot reports one of its readers was the recipient of the drive after he contacted the publisher.
However, as the site notes, game files still need to be installed onto the internal hard drive. So you could either use this to store other game files on, or you could wait for an upcoming Destiny patch that will make it possible to install game files on an external drive.
If you're in the same boat, you can contact Activision support to see if they can send you one. Do note however the offer may not be available in all countries.
