Activision has confirmed at music trade event MIDEM 2010 that DJ Hero 2 is being planned.

According to Gamerzines (thanks, Dave), the company is scouting for new and upcoming talent for a "future installment of DJ Hero."

"In 2010 DJ Hero will be hosting an exclusive Listening Session, providing one lucky undiscovered musician the priceless opportunity to have their winning song mixed, mastered and featured in a future installment of DJ Hero," said the company at the event.

This isn't the first time a DJ Hero sequel has been mentioned.

DJ superstar David Guetta said nearly two weeks ago he is "going to work on the No. 2 version."

Amazing stuff, kids.

The first DJ Hero, while it did well in terms of critical success, practically bombed at retail. It debuted in the UK charts just inside the top 20.

The October 2009 NPD showed it had sold less then Brutal Legend, selling 122,000 to BL's 216,000 in its debut month.

London, England – 15th January, 2010– Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) today announced DJ Hero™’s involvement with MIDEM 2010, as part of Guitar Hero®’s ongoing enthusiasm and commitment to support new music. Having supported various elements of the show in previous years, in 2010 DJ Hero will be hosting an exclusive Listening Session, providing one lucky undiscovered musician the priceless opportunity to have their winning song mixed, mastered and featured in a future installment of DJ Hero.
