ActiBlizz Q1 2010 financials: "DLC can rival AAA console launches without risk", says Tippl
Activision's Thomas Tippl said during the company's financial call to investors yesterday that the company plans to expand its online business more in the future.
Thanks to what he called a hardware install base of 227 million in the US (up 34 percent yoy), Activision's expectations for the install base for the remainder of 2010 remains unchanged and it plans to provide more DLC for the consoles.
"DLC can rival AAA console launches without risk and allows us to connect with consumers while understand their interests," said Tippl.
"We plan to expand our franchises with DLC and robust opportunities beyond retail as well.
"Black Ops will have a major marketing campaign later in the year, and we are excited over the Bungie deal because it will allow players to play their content through broader and more efficient way than ever before".
Guess that confirms PC and PS3 then for Bungie.
The call is ongoing, stuck with us, as we update.
