Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown reviews round-up, all the scores
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is the first mainline entry in a long while, does it hold up to modern standards?
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is a fresh sequel, releasing years after Ace Combat 6, the free-to-play Ace Combat Infinity, and the often derided Assault Horizon.
Skies Unknown is a game that takes after the classics, doing away with Assault Horizon's dogfight mode, and its real-world setting. The Strangereal returns once again in Ace Combat 7, complete with a new story of a conflict between, you guessed it, Osean Federation, and Erusea.
The game was announced all the way back in 2015, and was initially believed to be a PlayStation 4 exclusive. It was later confirmed for launch on PC, and Xbox One. Fast forward to 2019, and the console versions are indeed releasing on the same day, whereas PC players have to wait until February 1.
As a bonus, PlayStation VR owners get a few VR missions separate from the main campaign, exclusive to the platform until January, 2020. The game also features two multiplayer modes at launch.
See below for a round-up of Ace Combat 7's reviews. As always, scores listed are out of ten unless noted otherwise.
